About Northern Virginia Burial & Cremation Society The Cremation Society of Northern Virginia, or NOVA, is a deathcare business that provides low cost end-of-life arrangements and dispositions in Virginia and much of Maryland, with additional discounts for members. Learn about the benefits of being a member. While many funeral homes treat cremation as a less desirable option, simple cremation or burial services are all we offer. Our overhead is low because we don’t maintain all the trappings of a traditional funeral home, like limousines. We have specifically designed our services and the arrangement experience to be simplified from that of the funeral home, where so many choices and associated fees are typically present.
